Peter Pan Birthday Party

Wendy's best princess post // Daddy Pan // Being shy during the HBTY song // Wendy & Tink snuggles

Bill turned 5 this month. We decided to have a Peter Pan themed birthday party because she is obsessed. We had a few friends over, ordered pizza and even had a screening of Disney's 1953 classic. Lilly was Wendy (obvs), Rosie wore her Tink gown and I did my best Smee impersonation.

We had donuts for dessert (because Lilly still isn't sold on cake/cupcakes/cookies) so we had them glazed with Wendy's colors. I made the kids Peter Pan hats out of felt and filled tiny treasure boxes with candy.

I decorated with various Peter Pan quotes around the house including the above pictured "Think Happy Thoughts". It was inspired by this print found on Etsy.

Lilly had "the best time ever" which is really what it's all about. Love my sweet shy girl.

Beach Getaway

A few weeks ago we got to stay on the Gulf Coast with a few friends. Three moms, five kids and way too much fun. Probably a little too many post-bed time drinks too. I am so so thankful for my friends and that my kids can be friends with their kids. So thankful.

Also, blurry-on-purpose pictures? Kinda love them. There is a non-blurry gif below if you don't. ;)

ps- remind me to take the tag off of the toy before taking dreamy sunset beach pictures next time. (face palm)

Baby Talk V.12

Let's not talk about how big Bill is. Ok, we will. She will turn five in August and will start kindergarten soon after. There are so few things she mispronounces these days. It makes me kinda sad and also so proud. She was the cutest little girl but is the smartest big girl I know.
Here are a few things she says these days that crack my heart up:
crack my heart up -  break my heart. She uses this expression when she is either very happy or very sad.
constructions: meaning 'instructions'.
aminals: animals. I will cry when she corrects this one.
poodle: Pluto. Mickey's pet dog.
callapitter: caterpiller (not going to lie- I had to google what the real word was.)
message: a letter. Oh, technology.

Bud has a few of her own special words these days too.
- "dee dee dee" This one took me a while to figure out but I did. It is in reference to princesses and dancing like a princess. Then one day earlier this week my sister was dancing with Rosie and actually sang "dee dee dee". We both laughed so hard when we realized Rosie learned it from her.
- crackie: a graham cracker.
- dadoo: a donut
- shake-a shake-a: yogurt (realizing a lot of these are food related)
- pee pee pee: as in "please please please" aka begging. Thanks for teaching her that one big sister.

This has to be one of my favorite stages. I love figuring out their own special languages.
