The Mischief of Lillian Elouise - and the hidden corner

Every night before getting into bed Ben and I like to check on Miss Lillian Elouise. A few nights ago we went into her room and found this:

An empty bed.

A seemingly empty room.

Only one place left to look...

Yep. She barricaded herself in the corner of her room and decided to sleep there.
My silly Lilly.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2

I don't even know where to start on this subject. I saw the midnight showing at the Universal City Walk Cinema. A friend from church got me a ticket while I was still in MN. She sent me a text that said "Harry Potter is selling out everywhere. Do you want me to get you a ticket?" Of course I said yes and she told me we were going to Universal since it was the only place left. I was a little miffed at first because I knew City Walk would be super crowded and you have to park far away and walk to the theater but of course my grumblings died away the days leading up to the premier. I was just so excited I didn't care where I had to go to see it. I never would have imagined the surprise that came after the movie. I am so happy every other theater was sold out.

(obviously not my video)

It was an experience I'll never forget. (lol. Just re-watched the video and realized I repeated the last thing said. oh, well.) We dressed up. I didn't have a costume so I just spray dyed my hair pink and pretended to be Tonks. There were so many amazing costumes. The movie was great. I have very few complaints. All of my favorite parts were included. Best. Night. Ever.

Here are some photos from the night. I will warn you that I couldn't find my camera before I left so all of my pictures are from my iPhone. They aren't the best but I love them anyway.

Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

Editorial Part 2 + Out takes

So, it turns out blogging on vacation is a little harder then anticipated. Who knew I was so attached to the old clunker sitting back at home on my computer desk! So I have pretty much scrapped my weekly features and am just doing what I can. Luckily, Jordan uploaded the rest of our editorial photo shoot onto her blog so I snatched up some more pictures to share. The above images are some of my favorites. The first one with the glasses is probably my most favorite ever. I'm not going to lie, it makes me feel a bit like a movie star. You can even see Jordan in the glasses!

The below photos are some outtakes from our serious shoot.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. (which is a lot! does that make me super conceded? probably) It is just such a nice break from my usual jeans and a tee, only mascara and blush wearing lifestyle. I think every mom deserves some super glam pictures of herself. It's a nice reminder that we are women too.

ps- you can see part one here.

Day Two.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun fourth! We didn't do to much here. Just played with some small fireworks (or as Lilly has been calling them "firehouse"). Oh, yeah... and Emily and I almost got nailed in the face with one. We were standing inside watching the boys play with their roman candles when one went wonky and shot straight at us. It hit the glass door we were standing behind. Thank God we were standing inside and not out on the porch. The bride would not have liked to have an eyebrow singed off days before the wedding.

Today has been pretty relaxing. I just drained the batteries in my camera taking photos of my MIL's gardens. I love love love taking pictures of flowers. (As you may have seen here.) I'll share them later. *wink*

I'm sitting here trying to think of something else to share but I can't! Ha! I won't bore you anymore.

Hello From Minnesota!

Hi friends! Whew! What a whirl wind couple of days. We left for Minnesota late Saturday morning and that night, as previously mentioned, I threw my sister-in-law a bachelorette party. She is getting married this coming Saturday and we are so excited to have this week to spend time with family and enjoy this beautiful Minnesota weather. (just a note to other floridans: yesterday, I sat outside for like a half hour and didn't sweat at all! Be jealous.)

These pictures are from our plane ride. Asking a toddler to sit still and be semi quiet for 3 hours is kind of a joke so we played around with camera apps on my phone for a while.

I am also very, very excited to have a few extra hands to help me with the babe. Hopefully I can do some good granny square-ing and prepare for something special I have in store for next week. Oh, and I will be playing with some fireworks. I hope you are having a fantastic fourth!

ps- blogging from an iPad is not the easiest thing the world. Just FYI.

Hen Party

Eeeeek! Something I have failed to mention... perhaps because it has kinda stuck up on me... I am throwing my sister in law a bachelorette party tonight! I made these for some photo fun and am so excited to use them! Exclamation point overload!!! I'll be sure to post pictures from the event when I have recovered from it.

Editorial

Ay, chihuahua! So, as I mentioned before, last weekend I helped my friend Jordan play around with some new lighting equipment. And by help I mean I just sat there and tried to look like a model.

The shoot was a little outside my comfort zone since I am kinda the opposite of a serious or brooding person. But we were doing and editorial shoot so I tried to behave like a moody model. I told Jordan (and Tiffany who styled the shoot) that I was trying to look like I wanted to kill them or seduce them. We joked about Tyra Banks nonsensical advice on ANTM. (Confession: I love ANTM.) and laughed a lot between shots.

I kinda love how my eyes match my hair. Not to completely geek out on you here but the color of my eyes look in this last photo makes me think I would fit in pretty well with the Cullen family.

All joking aside, Jordan is amazing. She took our wedding photos and our family portraits last year. She is based in Lakeland, FL and also works in the Tampa/St. Pete area and Orlando. If you are in the Central Florida area and in need of a photographer look her up!
