Meet and Make with Sarah Hearts

Last Thursday night Amy and I attended the Valentine's Day Meet and Make hosted by Sarah of Sarah Hearts. It was so much fun to catch up with Sarah and makes some new friends too. Sarah had a mixed media project set up for us and we created some cute Florida and Valentine's inspired art.

Amy and I arrived at the same time, which was late, because of kids. We were 'fashionably late'. I didn't get any before pictures of Sarah's set up or delicious treats but as you can see in the aftermath photos above everything was great. AND I finally got to hug Jordan who I met via Instagram. I'm pretty sure we are kindred spirits.

It was such a great time. I am more and more impressed with Sarah every time I hang out with her. Girl is going places. Mark my words.

Crafty: Mini Lilly

Whenever I make a something for someone- including my own kids- I have this irrational fear that they will hate it. That they will be all a handmade gift? oh........... Does anyone else feel that way?! And I was relieved that my sweet big girl liked her mini just as much as the fancy new la la loopsys.

I wasn't completely satisfied with the doll. It was my first time making a felt doll and she is a little lopsided but after some encouragement from my hubby I finished it up, tied a bow on top and put it under the tree.

The whole experience gave me a crafty high. Now I want to make ALL THE THINGS for Lilly.

Did you make anything special this Christmas?

Felt Food

After Amy taught me how to make felt donuts I have become a little obsessed with making stuff out of felt. So when a friend invited us to her son's birthday party I knew what we were giving him. He is a chef in the making so I decided to stick to food and made him an assortment of breakfast foods. Toaster pastries, cinnamon rolls, an orange slice and a fried egg. So easy. So much fun.

And since I'm not going to attempt any sort of diy or tutorial here are some links to help you get or make some cute felt food for yourself!

Little Picklepotamus has felt food including this breakfast set that is ready to ship!

Sweet Emma Jean has a ton of felt food patterns and tutorials ready to go if you want to DIY.

Felt is definitely my current favorite craft medium. What's yours?

Hen Party

Eeeeek! Something I have failed to mention... perhaps because it has kinda stuck up on me... I am throwing my sister in law a bachelorette party tonight! I made these for some photo fun and am so excited to use them! Exclamation point overload!!! I'll be sure to post pictures from the event when I have recovered from it.
