Baby Skelly

My sweet friend Jess sent me a book on Creepy Cute Crochet. Whenever I get a new pattern book I can't help but start one of the projects. No matter how many I already have in the works. But that's one great part of this book- quick projects. I made this little creeper by combining the skeleton and grim reaper patterns and am calling him a baby skelly. Similar to my baby ghosty.

Yesterday, I delivered baby skelly to my tattoo artist. He has a very cute 5 year old boy so I thought this might be right up his alley. I have really enjoyed gifting the last two projects I've completed. I'm used to taking orders and stocking my shop so this is a nice change of pace. And it sure does make me feel good to make others smile. So I guess I'm being a little selfish too. ;)

Have you finished any good projects lately?

Crocheted Plant

If you haven't experienced Crafty is Cool I suggest you click the link right now. Allison is amazing an amazingly talented fiber artist and creates the cutest pop culture amigurumi you've ever seen. This cute little plant is a pattern she made for michael's. You can find it here. (Did I mention it's free?)

It was super easy to make and assemble and is perfect for that special someone in your life with a black thumb. I gifted this one but need to make another for myself. I have a rare plant killing talent so you can understand this patterns appeal to me.

ps- did I mention I got a new camera?! I am so excited to learn how to use it. How excited you ask? The image below pretty much sums it up.

Jellyfish!

Guess what? I finished that jellyfish a while ago and forgot to post about it. Ha!

I made it from this book. The book is pretty good and Hansi (the author) must be a freaking genius because the patterns are cuh-razy. I bought this book with zero knitting in the round experience and have to say it was a little much for me. It took me quite some time to figure out. I would recommend learning to knit in the round before attempting any of these patterns unless you like a good challenge and don't get frustrated easily. Unlike me.

Edit: I should clarify that this is not the first jelly I have made. The first one I made hangs in Lilly's room and is a bit of a hot mess. But practice makes perfect. ;)

What I'm Working On: Jellyfish

One of my sweet friends, Liz, asked me to make her a jellyfish for her nursery and as jellyfish are one of my favorite things to make I said yes! (duh)

I must admit that the lady who wrote this pattern must be a freakin genius. It is completely nuts and calls for techniques I have never used elsewhere such as: knitting through the back loop, knitting short rows, wrapping and twisting. Cuh-razy.

Hopefully I can post this weeks twig later today but statigram was down last night and I wasn't about to email myself alllllll those pics so... yeah. I'm lazy.

Lilly + Louise

I know I've mentioned this before but I really love Bob's Burgers. And Louise is my favorite.
I knew pretty much right away that I wanted to make a bunny hat like her's for Lilly. I tried to make the ears stand up but couldn't find a great way to do it so just ended up having long floppy ears. I finished the hat a few weeks ago but kept forgetting to take a picture of her in it to post here. Tonight we finally got down to business! She was a little sleepy so I had to tickle her to get that half smile.

LOVE!

She wore it to the grocery store last week too. She was so darn cute that I couldn't even say no to her getting into the box of cheerios. Her mischief is made all the more irresistible in that hat.

Have you seen Bob's Burgers yet?

'Bye Harold

Good ol' Harry was shipped off to frigid Minnesota Yesterday. Hope those yellow pants keep him warm.

Harold turned out smaller then my first human bean because he was made with finger weight yarn instead of medium gauge. Pretty unbelievable, I know.

AND (!!!) I can finally show off these booties. I made them for a friends baby shower (which was like a month ago) and even though they were finished on time I didn't send them until yesterday... so, I guess Lindsey could see this before actually receiving the booties. Whoops, oh well.

SPOILER ALERT LINDSEY, YOU'RE GETTING BOOTIES!
